Zen Out at These Anna Maria Island Yoga Studios

Just like life at home, any vacation can quickly become busy. Enjoy a morning kayak. Take a trip to the local Anna Maria Island farmer’s market. Make lunch for the family at your Anna Maria Island resort. Slash around with the kids in the pool. Build sand castles on the beach. Grab cocktails with friends. There are so many things to do on Anna Maria Island you might forget to stop and relax.

Perfect your downward dog on a mat in a breezy studio. If you’re feeling adventurous, try Anna Maria Island beach yoga for a toes-in-the-sand experience or practice mountain pose on the nose of a paddleboard.

Whether through fitness, meditation, an herbal facial, or a yoga class,  there are so many ways to relax on AMI!

Island Yoga Space

Located on the island’s north end, Island Yoga Space offers daily yoga classes for all levels and hosts them overlooking the turquoise waters of the Gulf.

The upstairs studio offers ocean views and a variety of yoga disciplines, including vinyasa, restorative, gentle, and yin. Bachelorette parties, groups of friends, and families of all ages can book private sessions with an instructor either in the studio or in the comfort of your Anna Maria beach resort.

The studio also offers mala bead parties, where people come together to make their own prayer beads. Make them on vacation and wear them at home to symbolize intention and a souvenir of your island vacation.

Island Yoga Space regularly offers events, such as spring renewal restorative yoga with hot stones and “Yogalicious,” a sensory experience with crystal and singing bowls, chimes, drumming, and an essential-oil neck massage.

Salty Buddha Paddle & Yoga

Trade in your mat for a stand-up paddleboard and start your day off practicing downward dog floating on the gulf waters on your Anna Maria Island vacation.

If you prefer turf over surf, start your morning with Salty Buddha’s “Rise & Flow” Anna Maria Island beach yoga class. Bring a towel or blanket, and prepare to feel the sand in your toes at this class for all levels. Beach yoga meets at the 52nd St Beach Access in Homes Beach.

In-studio classes, scheduled morning to evening, include mixed-level ashtanga, vinyasa flow, “slow flow” and restorative. With classes offered throughout the day, there’s something to fit any busy vacation schedule. The studio also offers teacher training for both studio and SUP yoga.

After your practice, rent a paddleboard from Salty Buddha and explore the island’s waterways. Delivery of a board, paddle, and life jacket is available across the island at no charge. If you’re new to paddling, take a 15-minute lesson to master the basics before heading out on your own. Or, take a private or group lesson to have increased confidence in the water.

If you’re on the island for the full lunar cycle, join a “full moon paddle,” a celebration of nature held regularly at Salty Buddha. This paddle has you setting intentions as you float across the gulf waters, the sun setting on the horizon. The studio also offers full moon yoga, as well as paddles and yoga for the spring equinox and summer solstice.

The studio is steps from the Bridge Street Pier, so be sure to visit the historic part of Anna Maria Island before or after class.

Aluna Wellness Center & Spa

For the ultimate zen experience, sign up for a yoga class or treatment at Aluna in Bradenton Beach. Aluna invites guests for a “transformative” experience in a relaxing spa environment.

Try the “full moon flow” for a mix of yoga, meditation, and a powerful exercise in letting go. Or join a 60-minute “heart chakra,” associated with love, compassion, and forgiveness, a class designed to open the heart.

This eco-friendly wellness center is the complete package, focusing on the mind, body, and soul. It offers yoga, meditation, massages, acupuncture, and a full range of organic facials, among other treatments. The center has four treatment rooms, as well as relaxation and meditation rooms. Feel your stress fade at Aluna as you enjoy one of the many services they offer under one peaceful roof.

After your class or treatment, take a moment to connect with nature in the zen garden, which features tropical and desert plants, water features, and comfortable outdoor seating for optimum relaxation.

This studio and spa are located on Gulf Drive in Bradenton Beach, across the street from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
