3 Famous Beaches
Manatee Beach—This is one of the top attractions on Anna Maria Island. This sandy spot is sure to give you the perfect beach day you’re looking for. It’s a great pick for families because of the many amenities it offers. You’ll find lifeguards, full bathrooms, volleyball courts, and a playground. Located in Holmes Beach, this spot is loved by tourists and locals. It also has several easy access points and free parking.
Bayfront Park—If you want to search for some seashells during your trip to the beach, then Bayfront Park is the spot for you. The waves here are much calmer than some of the other beaches and this area can be a little less crowded as well. If you hang out during low tide you’ll be sure to find some big beautiful shells to take home as souvenirs.
Coquina Beach—This beach is located on the southern end of the island and also has many amenities. You’ll find changing cabanas, a café, a hiking trail, and picnic tables. This is a good pick for your beach day if you’re looking to spend time on the sand and do some other activities as well. Parts of this beach are also handicap accessible.
3 Famous Piers

Rod & Reel Pier—This restaurant is known for providing the perfect taste of Old Florida. Located on the north end of Anna Maria Island, the casual experience allows you to sit inside or outside. Have breakfast, lunch, or dinner and bring your fishing pole along to fish right off the dock. You’ll also have a spectacular view of the Gulf and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
Anna Maria City Pier—The AMI city pier was built in the early 1900s to bring more boating access to Anna Maria Island. You don’t have to worry about that today while staying at our Anna Maria Island resort, but this was huge for imports and exports at the time. Today you’ll find fantastic Gulf Coast fishing off the pier as well as many nearby restaurants and stores.
Bridge Street Pier—Located in Bradenton Beach, this pier is the former bridge, which was once the only way to access Anna Maria Island. Now, you can fish off the pier, visit some of the many nearby attractions, and get the real Old Florida feel of the area. The free trolley stops nearby to this pier so don’t miss out!
3 Best Places To Shop
Pine Ave—This street starts on the beach and continues to the Anna Maria City Pier. Along the way you’ll find fantastic eateries like Anna Maria Donuts and Poppo’s Taqueria. You’ll also be able to enjoy unique shops like the Olive Oil Outpost and even get a photo in front of the historic Anna Maria Jail.
Bridge Street—Bridge Street is known as Anna Maria Island’s “hot spot.” There are so many stores to check out along this stretch. You’ll find everything from little souvenir shops, to unique jewelry, and boutique clothing. There are also plenty are bars and restaurants along the way as well.
Bradenton Farmers’ Market—If fresh produce is what you’re after there’s no better place than the Bradenton Farmer’s Market. Hosted every Saturday from October to May you can visit to find locally sourced produce, eggs, seafood, meat, and much more.

The Sandbar Restaurant—This might be one of the most popular restaurants on the island. You can enjoy some delicious seafood while enjoying one of the tables right on the beach. The Sandbar has a focus on serving up authentic Old Florida dishes any time of day.
The Waterfront Restaurant—Waterfront has a menu that will appeal to adventurous eaters and those who know what they like. The Waterfront Restaurant changes the menu daily so there’s always something new to choose from. With a tropical and laid back atmosphere, this location is great for lunch or dinner.
Beach Bistro—If you’re looking for a more elegant dining experience this is the pick for you. Beach Bistro serves up award-winning surfside meals that are sure to excite you. Enjoy amazing seafood and delicious cuts any way you like them. Open for dinner 7 days a week, reservations are suggested.
